2) Basic Body Regions
It is crucial to understand where structures and certain injuries are on the body; these terms provide the healthcare filed a way to clearly and concisely communicate what areas are discussed. Various body regions are shown in the image below.

Some regions are split into quadrants; for example, see below. This can help to be more specific when determining where, say, pain is in those regions. The idea of being more precise within each of the body regions will be developed further in the next step.
